What’s the difference between friendship and an emotional affair?

Just curious on how people out there would define the difference between what a friendship with the opposite sex is and when that friendship crosses the line. Also, is an emotional affair truly cheating?

An emotional affair would be like being intimate without actually having sex. Kissing, holding hands, grabbing butt, etc. It could also mean having cyber sex over the internet or via messenger. In either case, its pushing the envelope and is considered cheating because real physical cheating is waiting around the corner.
if you have feelings for another person u sould probably re thinking ur relationship just a bit…it crosses the line when things that shouldnt be said are said and theres touching involved…
Being someone who has worked though an actual affair and has gone to counseling I have learned the big differences between friendship, sexual affair and emotional affair. Obviously friends are friends and if its just that then hanging out together with you around shouldn’t make anyone feel uncomfortable or uneasy. Sexual affair pretty self explaining. Emotional affair is really nothing to do with sexual or physical contact though. The person committing the affair is being personal and emotionally connected to someone else. They share their personal information and feelings to their other person and not to you. All their thoughts and feeling and are being kept for the other person and you are being left in the cold to try to figure out things on their own. Personally if you think something is going on confront the person now before things get out of control.
