How to Kiss on a First Date

A perfect end to a wonderful first date is always a kiss—an exclamation point to mark your night. But how do you kiss on a first date? First you must get clear signs that your date wants a kiss, otherwise, kissing her would be as good as losing a chance at a second date.
If you both feel an undeniable chemistry then a kiss on a first date would be just perfect. Other signs that you date is anticipating a kiss can be as simple as eye-contact. When your date keeps trying to have eye-contact, it means she’s attracted to you. Touching is also a go signal for a kiss. A touch on the shoulder or holding hands definitely means she’s into you and a kiss is on her mind. So you’re in the car, or on her doorstep ready to say goodnight. How do you tell if a kiss is welcome?
- She is facing you, with her arms and body relaxed.
- Her face is tilted upward, toward you.
- She keeps looking into your eyes, with her mouth slightly parted
On the other hand, if she keeps staring down at her feet, or shakes your hand and says goodnight then she definitely does not want a kiss.
Girls should also know how to tell if the guy is interested kissing on a first date. Here are signs that tell you your man wants to kiss.
- He keeps staring at you
- He constantly licks his lips and smiles nervously
- He doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to leave
But if he walks you straight to the door, avoiding eye contact and says goodnight without hesitation then don’t bother expecting a kiss.
If all signs tell you that a kiss is wanted, the next thing you should know is how you go about kissing your date. You definitely don’t want to leave the wrong impression so here are a few smart tips for kissing on a first date.
Wait for the perfect timing. Wait until you are both comfortable.
Everybody has a kissing style. But before you try to show your date yours, feel each other. Your date might prefer a different kissing style, so don’t insist your own. Just make the kiss count!
Don’t get lost in the moment. While you might have been waiting a long time for this moment, always keep your self control. When you feel that she is not into the kiss, or if she tells you to stop, do stop. If she doesn’t, think if you’re ready if things lead to more serious stuff.
If things go wrong, stop. Laugh the tension off, crack a joke. Or apologize and don’t forget your date for a wonderful night.
The biggest tip to make yourself kissable: Keep your hygiene in check before the date. Don’t forget your deodorant and mouthwash. And please, don’t bathe in your cologne. You wouldn’t want to suffocate your date, do you?
